The first known Advent Calendar is from the mid 1800’s. It was used by German Lutherans to mark the days of Advent in preparation for Christmas. There are many styles of Advent calendars: some open doors to reveal little treats, others use lit candles to mark days as they pass.
Advent calendars come in many shapes and sizes. The following calendar was created using input from school students, in which each day is marked with a suggestion for a Random Act of Kindness.
